It’s a Journey: Part 1 to MN Mayo Clinic

The moment we've all been waiting for arrived, and at the crack of dawn—3 AM, to be precise—Tom and I dragged our sleepy selves to Newark Airport, ready to jet off to MN. Meanwhile, the kids are living their best life with my parents, soaking up the #hamptonslife for the weekend before they return to the chaos of school and activities. With them in safe hands, Tom and I can fully embrace this wild adventure for my “zebra” behind!

Lately, it feels like I’ve been wrestling a bear in a tutu, and I could really use a roadmap out of this mess! Wouldn't it be awesome if we could hit pause on my Pillsbury doughboy physique and let some of that helium escape? I’m all ears for feedback, ideas, or any quirky methods these doctors at Mayo may have up their sleeve. Monday is jam-packed with tests, and Tuesday I've got a date with the doc... but for now, we're in MN. Not exactly a rave, but I’m totally down to kick back and enjoy some kid-free tranquility!

After an epic quest that felt like we were in a low-budget reality show about breakfast, Tom finally dug up a breakfast spot for us since we touched down at 8 am MN time. The place was bustling, a 20 min wait in MN! The food? Meh, it was fine. But the oat latte? This vanilla Oat Latte stole the spotlight like a diva on stage! Maybe my body was just throwing a tantrum for caffeine after being awake since 2:30 am, but that latte was so smooth it slid down my throat like it was on a slip 'n slide! Appears to be the only show in town for AM eats, so back tomorrow I’m guessing.

Tom's got relatives in Minnesota that we only get to see when there's a family shindig – it's like they live on a different planet or something! Tomorrow, we actually have plans to rendezvous and munch on some food. Fingers crossed I feel good enough to join Tom on this escapade, because today my cough sounds like a dying walrus… not exactly the soundtrack I was hoping for! But hey, I've got a pulmonologist appointment lined up for Monday, so I’m basically a forward-planning genius. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ Our hotel room looks like a mini hospital with my whole medical arsenal set up, nebulizer included – I came to conquer, not to play!

Buckle up, folks! Our adventure is just cranking up, and I can already feel the rollercoaster of emotions coming on—twists, turns, and enough ups and downs to give a pogo stick a run for its money! Plus, I’m bringing a side of anxiety for your viewing pleasure. But hey, it’s a step closer to reclaiming my lost sanity from this pesky disease! So, keep your popcorn handy and stay tuned!
